This is an engagement through Upwork’s Hybrid Workforce Solutions (HWS) Team. Our Hybrid Workforce Solutions Team is a global group of professionals that support Upwork’s business. Our HWS team members are located all over the world.

As an Event Producer, you will join the Internal Communications (IC) team responsible for inspiring, educating, and engaging team members so we can deliver the work marketplace that sparks a global movement to reimagine work.

You will work 25 hours per week to streamline all of our internal event processes and partner closely with IC to ensure that our live events are creative, engaging, and held to the highest standards for our hybrid (in-person and remote) workforce. This includes, but is not limited to, our virtual weekly company-wide meeting, our virtual quarterly all-hands meetings, our hybrid annual Kickoff event, and other ad-hoc events as needed (examples might include an external speaker series for employees or a company-wide Hackathon).

Work/ Project Scope:

  • Develop and manage event timelines, task lists, and communication plans to ensure seamless execution of Upwork’s internal events
  • Ensure seamless execution of our events with internal partners, including Multimedia, IT, Workplace, and our Remote Operational Effectiveness team, among others
  • Schedule and run rehearsals with presenters (along with your respective IC partner)
  • Provide feedback to presenters on slide design, scripts, and stage presence
  • Leverage data and analytics to measure event impact and ROI, and use insights to inform future event planning and optimization
  • Organize recordings of events and upload them to company intranet
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and best practices in event management, and incorporate innovative approaches to increase interactivity and engagement
  • Take ownership of event success and serve as a role model for excellence
  • Continuously evaluate and improve event processes to drive greater efficiency, effectiveness, and impact


Must Have Requirements:

  • Experience managing internal events, specifically with a mixed audience of in-person and remote attendees
  • Experience with event technology and tools, such as event management software, virtual event platforms, and event analytics tools examples are: Zoom, Slido, Google Workspace
  • Strong project management skills, with experience leading complex projects with multiple stakeholders and deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence others, and resolve conflicts effectively
  • A calm demeanor under pressure
  • Attention to detail
