The SVP, Strategy and Product will play a critical enterprise leadership role within OptumRx, overseeing the full lifecycle and performance of a $200M+ gross margin product portfolio. Additionally, the role will oversee strategic initiatives with >$100M in IOI potential. This role is central to advancing OptumRx's strategic objectives by embedding product discipline, driving operational excellence, and ensuring that product strategies are aligned with evolving client, consumer, and market needs. The SVP will lead a team of senior product and strategy leaders responsible for portfolio performance, infrastructure, and strategic product lines such as affordability solutions. This position is accountable for delivering measurable business value through disciplined execution, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Optum Rx product portfolio, ensuring that on-market products deliver on their business cases, meet NPS and financial targets, and evolve in response to market dynamics
- Oversee the development and execution of product roadmaps, enhancements, and sunsetting strategies. Ensure that each product is positioned for growth, aligned with client and consumer needs, and supported by robust go-to-market and performance plans
- Build and scale the product management infrastructure, including forecasting, budgeting, resource planning, performance tracking, and results reporting. Establish and mature operating models that integrate product with core functions such as Growth, Clinical, Marketing, Operations, Technology, and Finance
- Lead long-range strategic planning and business incubation for Optum Rx. This includes integrating input from business units and functional partners to create a unified, forward-looking roadmap
- Identify, evaluate, and operationalize new business models and services aligned with enterprise growth goals
- Serve as a unifying force across all Optum Rx strategy teams, ensuring alignment of goals, priorities, and execution plans. Act as the connective tissue between strategy functions, creating clarity and cohesion across initiatives
- Oversee M&A strategy and strategic partnerships, including opportunity assessment and integration planning. Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Finance, Legal, and Corporate Development to evaluate and execute inorganic growth opportunities that complement OptumRx's strategic direction
- Embed product management discipline across the organization by leading change management efforts, establishing governance, and driving adoption of key processes such as capital planning, product development, and NPS listening systems
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of product, operations, and strategy leaders. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. Champion product career pathing, training, and talent development across the enterprise
- Engage directly with clients, prospects, and consumers to gather insights, validate product strategies, and ensure market relevance. Represent OptumRx in strategic client discussions and industry forums

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 15+ years of experience in product management, general management, operations leadership, or strategy roles
- Proven success managing large-scale product portfolios and P&Ls
- Deep healthcare experience, including knowledge of payer, PBM, and health services sectors
- Demonstrated ability to lead in complex, matrixed environments and influence without authority
- Strong financial acumen, strategic thinking, and operational execution skills
- Experience building and scaling product management functions and infrastructure
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement, and change leadership capabilities
- Demonstrated success in launching new businesses or products with large IOI potential
- Experience managing a P&L and leading large-scale product or business teams
- Strong strategic thinking, financial modeling, and executive communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (MBA, MHA) from a top-tier program
- Experience with pharmacy benefits, affordability solutions, or healthcare technology platforms
- Knowledge of the pharmacy benefits market

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice oof benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $350,000 to $475,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
