About the role:

Senior Director Enterprise Artificial Intelligence & Intelligent Agents

Make your Mark:

We are seeking a visionary and experienced leader to spearhead UKG's corporate wide strategic vision for Artificial Intelligence & Intelligent Agentic Automation. This role involves building and managing a Center of Excellence (CoE) including AI Literacy, being a coach for executive leaders and being strategic foresight to all AI based Innovation and Excellence methodologies, developing and implementing various technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning, Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) & Agentic Intelligent Automation (AIA), and establishing trusted governance practices for the use of generative AI in products. This position helps to set measurable outcome framework for projects and services aligned with corporate objectives and balance the experimentation vs. transformation mindset with track record in leading process automation efforts, building and managing teams of automation developers and AI experts, and implementing innovative technology solutions that have a measurable impact on business operations.

You'll Get To:

Strategic Leadership & Transformation

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive Enterprise Artificial Intelligence & Intelligent Agents strategy aligned with UKG's strategic business priorities.
  • Serve as a thought leader on AI, Agents, and Automation trends, emerging technologies, and ethical AI consideration and ensuring effective use of AI, Agents, and Automation to drive business insights and operational efficiency.
  • Manage budget and establish partnerships with academia, vendors, and industry leaders to improve AI capabilities ensuring AI, Agents, and Automation are embedded as a core capability into UKG's products.
  • Collaborate with business unit leaders to create and maintain a comprehensive Enterprise AI, Agents and Automation technology roadmap to support data-driven decision-making.

Cohort of Excellence & Community of Practice

  • Establish and scale the AI and Agent Cohort of Excellence to drive UKG enterprise-wide Innovation and build a community of practitioners to sustain and scale adoption across the enterprise.
  • Build a governance mechanism to champion, review and develop trusted AI model framework ensuring alignment with ethical AI principles, and regulatory standards.
  • Create use case lifecycle management with prioritization and reporting frameworks to identify and implement high impact use cases across all business functions.
  • Foster AI literacy program and learning pathways from senior executives to front line professionals to adopt AI and Agents in their workflows

Innovation & Excellence

  • Define Current Operating Model and Target Operating Model processes to drive an environment that sparks, cultivates and embraces Innovation and Excellence.
  • Be at the forefront of AI and Agents to drive innovation and excellence to eliminate waste, variation and overburden on processes, systems and people, while maintaining adoption roadmaps.
  • Lead Steering Committee discussions for strategic decision-making, evaluate buy vs. build approaches for process excellence.
  • Set measurable outcomes and structured process for initiatives and build a culture for experimentation & implementation of ideas with AI, Agents, and Automation mindset.

End-to-End Value Realization

  • Mature a measurement framework and a high-performance delivery of AI, Agents, and Automations with business impact.
  • Drive UKG enterprise-wide transformation by leveraging AI, Agents, and Automation to enhance operational efficiencies and business value generation and capitalize on strategic opportunities.
  • Ensure seamless integration of AI, Agents and Automation solutions across business priorities.
  • Play a pivotal role in guiding AI, Agents, and Automation adoption, optimizing enterprise workflows, enabling intelligent data driven decision-making.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Communication

  • Lead and mentor a UKG team of AI and Automation experts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Partner with business unit leaders to understand the challenges and build AI and Agent based solutions.
  • Monitor risks associated with AI outcomes and meaningfully co-create mitigation strategies.
  • Communicate the benefits and progress of AI and Automation projects to stakeholders, including senior leadership.

What You'll Bring:

  • A master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field. Ph.D. preferred
  • 20+ years of experience in leading the innovation process excellence, artificial intelligence, intelligent automation in Finance, Information Technology, Human Resources, Supply Chain and Product Development.
  • Proven experience in building Cohort of Excellence and Community of Practice across geographies for process automations, and AI practice.
  • Keen understating of Ethical AI principles, laws and regulations.
  • Experience building process excellence outcome frameworks and leading cross-functional AI teams, including product managers, analysts, data scientists, and AI/ML/GenAI/Deep Learning developers.
  • Experience with AI strategies and leading enterprise-wide transformation initiatives, deployment of AI platforms and collaboration with vendors, industry partners and academic researchers.
  • Strong understanding of AI, GenAI, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Agents, and Automation technologies (Copilots, AWS, Azure OpenAI, RAG, MCP, GPT , UIPath), and the ability to manage both people and process side of change effectively using structured methodology such as (PROCI, Lean, Six sigma, CRISP-DM, Malcolm Baldridge Excellence Framework, Rainbow Framework, NIST AI600-1)
  • Ability to think strategically and develop long-term plans for AI, Agents and Automation initiatives.
  • Proactive senior executive collaboration and hands on training skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex challenges and find innovative solutions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 20+ years of experience leading the innovation process excellence, artificial intelligence, or intelligent automation in Finance, Information Technology, Human Resources, Supply Chain and/or Product Development
  • Bachelor Degree

The pay range for this position is $159k to $229k, however, base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for a short-term incentive and a long-term incentive as part of total compensation.
