Transfer Pricing Manager

About The Role

Uber is looking to add a Transfer Pricing Manager to our rapidly growing tax strategy and planning team. This role will support the transfer pricing matters of Uber's rapidly expanding international functions. This position offers an opportunity to join a growing tax team and make an immediate impact.

What You'll Do

  • Identify, assess, implement, monitor and maintain global transfer pricing policies
  • Manage outside advisors and collaborate with internal global tax teams to implement global transfer pricing documentation, including Masterfile and local files
  • Analyze Uber's intangible property structure and work with external / internal advisors to develop intangible valuation models to support internal restructuring, M&A and other planning projects
  • Provide transfer pricing technical guidance to accounting teams to set up transfer pricing calculation methodologies
  • Collaborate with tax reporting teams on the transfer pricing aspects of tax provision and reporting, including ASC 740/FIN48 analysis and documentation, intercompany calculation review and financial forecasts transfer pricing adjustments
  • Collaborate with the tax controversy team and external advisors to manage transfer pricing audits by preparing analysis and responses to information requests by tax authorities
  • Monitor the global establishment of new entities, structures, and business lines and provide transfer pricing support on new business models
  • Stay informed of major transfer pricing development and model the impact of changes on Uber's transfer pricing structure
  • Come up with your own ideas on how existing processes can be constantly improved and drive the implementation of the improvements to ensure scalability of Uber's transfer pricing processes

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of transfer pricing experience in accounting / consulting firms and/or multinational companies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in economics, accounting or similar. Advanced degree preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of OECD Transfer Pricing Guidelines and US Transfer Pricing regulation Section 482.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate with non-transfer pricing professionals on complex transfer pricing issues
  • Ability to develop and sustain relationships internally and cross-functionally
  • Experience in a high-growth, international environment
  • Ability to coordinate work within diverse and geographically dispersed teams and to deliver through to completion
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a high-growth, fast-paced international environment
  • Excellent tax research and organization skills

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$145,000 per year - USD$161,000 per year.

For Washington, DC-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$145,000 per year - USD$161,000 per year.
