Senior Account Executive, Retail, Spain
About the Role
As a Sr Account Executive in Spain, you'll play a key part in accelerating our national expansion by partnering with major Spanish retail chains, helping grow our Grocery & Retail offering in markets across Spain.
This is a unique opportunity to blend partner relationship management with business strategy as we expand into new cities and regions, tailoring our approach to Spain's diverse retail landscape and consumer habits. You'll help secure some of the most recognizable supermarket, pharmacy, and convenience brands across Spain, building the best marketplace assortment and extending our last-mile delivery capabilities.
Working alongside the local team in Spain, you'll deepen our reach with retailers across grocery, pharmacy, convenience, and general retail sectors. Our environment is fast-paced and collaborative, with a start-up mentality focused on solving complex challenges and driving growth.

What You Will Do
- Drive Merchant Expansion: Help land high-impact retail partners in key regions across Spain to ensure Uber Eats offers the best and most relevant selection.
- Own the Sales Cycle: Lead end-to-end sales efforts-from prospecting and outreach to negotiation and closing deals.
- Support Onboarding & Execution: Partner with Account Management and Ops to ensure our partners experience a smooth transition from sales to go-live.
- Negotiate with Impact: Lead contract discussions with store managers and decision-makers at national and regional retail chains.
- Prioritize High-Impact Targets: Use your understanding of the Spanish retail landscape to identify and prioritize merchants that align with our strategic goals.
- Hit Your Numbers: Consistently meet or exceed quarterly sales targets by effectively managing and growing your pipeline.
- Communicate Value Clearly: Confidently present Uber Eats' value proposition to merchants through email, calls, and face-to-face meetings.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with Spain-based Operations, Marketing, and Account Management teams to ensure a seamless merchant experience.
- Inform Strategy: Share feedback and local market insights to help shape Uber's go-to-market strategies and sales playbooks for Spain.
- Be a Brand Ambassador: Represent Uber Eats with professionalism, credibility, and passion across the Spanish retail ecosystem.
What You Will Need
- 5+ years of Sales Experience: Proven track record in inside or field sales, account management, or client-facing roles-ideally in FMCG, retail, or fast-paced digital marketplaces. Consultative selling experience is essential.
- Retail Expertise: Experience working with large retail chains or managing multi-location partnerships in Spain is a strong advantage.
- Negotiation Skills: Demonstrated success in navigating complex sales and contract negotiations.
- Language Skills:Fluency in both Spanish and English-written and spoken-is required. Other regional languages (Catalan, Galician, Basque) are a plus.
- Tech Proficiency: Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM platforms to manage sales pipelines and drive performance.
- Entrepreneurial Spirit: A self-starter with a goal-oriented mindset and passion for scaling business.
- Territorial Awareness: Familiarity with different regions across Spain, including regional retail nuances and business practices.
- Willingness to Travel: This role may require up to 40% travel within Spain, with occasional international trips.
