About the Role

The Financial Business Group is part of the Global Commerce organisation that is a critical enabler of building and operationalising financial services to drive engagement and contribution streams for the core Mobility and Delivery businesses. The APAC Financial Business Group regional team services nine unique markets in the region, collaborating with various cross-functional teams globally to design and scale locally nuanced financial products for our spenders and earners.

This is a high visibility and impact strategy and business operations role to shape and grow Uber's financial services business with strong initiatives mapped to Uber's global payments strategy in the Asia Pacific region.

The Impact You'll Have

  • Own all aspects of building new spender financial products in APAC including but not limited to business case building through discovery conversations, voice of customer surveys, cost planning and forecasting, RFI/P issuance and governance, marketing and feedback loop and post launch governance for new financial products in APAC.
  • Conduct analysis of product, program and partnership performance with cross-functional stakeholders internally and externally. Leverage data to help steer business decisions.
  • Report and analyse variances between actuals, forecast, and plan and build/discuss potential action plans in all phases with cross-functional stakeholders and the leadership.

The Experience You'll Bring

  • 7+ years experience within banking, e-commerce and/or consulting in strategy or operations with deep knowledge in cards issuing.
  • You're a self-starter and take initiative to seize opportunities: The FBG team is evolving every day and requires highly motivated individuals that thrive in a fast-paced environment, have high adaptability to change and the ability to execute quickly (pivoting from long-term thinking to immediate action tactical responses).
  • High-energy and motivational leader to work with strong individual contributors with a strong sense of ownership and bias for action.
  • Advanced collaboration and influencing skills built from experience of navigating a global matrix organisation and building deep, trust-based relationships with a diverse stakeholder set including Global Commerce, Mobility and Delivery leadership in a constantly changing, rapid growth environment with tight deadlines.
  • Passion for solving ambiguous and complex problems - experience with demonstrating quantitative and qualitative sources to translate complex problems into clear, concise, and practical solutions. You need to be structured and have attention to detail.
  • Unparalleled business judgment and critical thinking skills with the ability to use data to quickly establish the highest value priorities and develop a strategy to pursue them.
  • Based in Sydney, Australia with flexibility to travel when required across geographies.
  • SQL knowledge is mandatory.
