About the Role
The U4B API platform is a critical component of Uber's business, powering various products and facilitating millions of transactions across hundreds of thousands of organizations. As an Engineering Manager on the U4B API platform team, you will play a key role in leading and empowering a talented team of engineers to build, maintain, and scale this dynamic platform, with a strong focus on growth trust, and security.
---- What You Will Do ----
- Lead the development and execution of the technical vision and roadmap for the U4B API platform, with a focus on initiatives that drive user adoption and platform growth.
- Architect and design scalable, reliable, and secure systems to support high-volume B2B transactions, prioritizing robust security practices.
- Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration within your cross-functional team of backend and frontend engineers, driving the delivery of high-quality, secure software solutions.
- Manage and develop your team, setting goals, providing mentorship, and fostering career development in the context of U4B's goals.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (product, design, data science, security) to ensure seamless integration, secure user experience, and platform growth.
- Own the recruitment process, identifying and attracting top engineering talent to join the U4B APIplatform team.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in the software development space.
---- What You Will Need ----
8+ years of software engineering industry experience 5+ years of experience developing software as an individual contributor engineer. Outstanding technical skills in backend: Uber managers can lead from the front when the situation calls for it. 1+ years for frontline managing a diverse set of engineers Great management and team development skills: ability to set roadmap and goals for a team and every one of its members, delegate intelligently, mentor engineers, deliver frequent and transparent feedback, help team members grow in their careers and deliver results
