About the Role
The Hong Kong & Taiwan Legal team manages regulatory, litigation, and commercial matters across Uber's Mobility and Delivery businesses in Hong Kong and Taiwan. This role is dynamic and fast-paced, ideal for candidates who thrive in agile environments, effectively manage multiple priorities, and excel in high-impact, high-profile situations.
The position is based in Taipei and reports directly to the Senior Counsel, Hong Kong & Taiwan.
What You Will Do
- Serve as a trusted legal advisor, providing comprehensive support across a wide range of initiatives for Uber's businesses in Hong Kong and Taiwan.
- Offer counsel on diverse legal, commercial, regulatory, and litigation issues.
- Draft, review, and negotiate strategic contracts crucial for business growth.
- Provide product counseling, ensuring legal compliance while enabling sustainable innovation and expansion.
- Manage disputes and legal proceedings involving Mobility and Delivery business sectors.
- Interpret and apply regulations relevant to Uber's business models, advising proactively on compliance.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Policy, Tax, Communications, Safety, and Operations) to support regulatory engagements and strategic projects.
- Handle complex, high-priority legal matters efficiently under tight deadlines.

Basic Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years post-admission experience, qualified to practice law in Taiwan.
- Experience in heavily regulated industries such as e-commerce, technology, mobility, or delivery.
- Proven expertise advising on legal, commercial, regulatory, and litigation matters.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with high emotional intelligence.
- Demonstrated success operating effectively in complex organizational structures, managing stakeholders, and working autonomously.
- Comfortable adapting quickly to shifting priorities and ambiguity in fast-paced environments.
- Strong personal initiative, integrity, ethics, and accountability.
- Passionate about Uber and aligned with our mission.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3-5 years PQE, preferably with tech company in-house experience.
- Experience working with Hong Kong jurisdictions.
- Proven bilingual contract drafting skills.
- Experience handling complex litigation.
- Dual qualification (Taiwan and another jurisdiction) highly desirable.
