Overview
The Post-Tribune is looking for an energetic, organized, curious and analytical reporter to fill a busy county government beat. The right candidate will be able to deliver stories that show the impact on residents of Northwest Indiana and dig into public records to hold public officials accountable. This position is part breaking news and part government beat coverage with an emphasis on enterprise work. In a highly competitive market, the right reporter will bring the instincts and news judgment to stay on top of the beat without getting buried by the small stuff. Accuracy and fairness are essential. The Post-Tribune, a Chicago Tribune Media Group paper that publishes seven days a week, has an engaged readership that holds the paper to high standards.
Candidates must have reporting experience or an internship that provided exceptional opportunity to write/report. A bachelor's degree is required.
