Data Governance Lead

Reporting directly to the Global Head of Data Management and Governance, the Data Governance Lead will play a critical role in establishing and maintaining an effective data governance framework and infrastructure at Tradeweb. By overseeing Collibra, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and managing data governance processes and controls, this role will ensure the integrity, security, and compliance of organizational data assets. Through strategic leadership and operational excellence, the Data Governance Lead will contribute to the organization's overall data governance maturity and success.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee the implementation and management of Collibra, serving as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for the data governance platform.
  • Collaborate with risk management, cyber security, and compliance teams to establish and maintain data governance policies, procedures, and controls in alignment with regulatory requirements and organizational objectives.
  • Manage data catalogs, lineage, and metadata within Collibra, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data assets across the organization.
  • Establish a comprehensive data governance framework, including governance structures, roles, responsibilities, and decision-making processes, to promote data stewardship and accountability.
  • Streamline and govern existing data management processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices to enhance data quality, integrity, and security.
  • Develop and implement data quality standards and monitoring processes, including the establishment of data quality metrics, thresholds, and remediation procedures.
  • Assist in data classification efforts, including the identification and categorization of sensitive data, and implement access controls to ensure appropriate data usage and protection.
  • Manage external data requests, including data sharing agreements, privacy requests, and regulatory inquiries, ensuring compliance with legal and contractual obligations.
  • Collaborate with business units and IT teams to facilitate data governance initiatives, including data standardization, data quality improvement, and data governance training and awareness programs.
  • Monitor and report on key data governance metrics and KPIs, providing insights and recommendations to senior management for continuous improvement.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging best practices in data governance, incorporating relevant advancements into the organization's data governance strategy and roadmap.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in data management or governance are preferred.
  • Proven experience 5+ years in data governance, data management, or related roles, with a focus on establishing and managing data governance frameworks and processes.
  • Experience in administering and configuring data governance platforms, with specific expertise in Collibra or similar tools.
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborating with risk management, cyber security, and compliance teams to establish and enforce data governance policies and controls.
  • Strong understanding of data catalogs, metadata management, data lineage, and other data governance concepts and practices.
  • Experience in managing data classification, access controls, and external data requests, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
  • Strategic thinking and vision, with the ability to develop and implement a comprehensive data governance strategy aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Detail-oriented mindset, with a focus on ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency in data governance processes and controls.
  • Integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to upholding ethical standards and promoting a culture of data stewardship and accountability.
  • Knowledge of financial industry and fixed income preferred

  • The current pay range for this role if performed in the city of New York is currently $100,000 to $175,000 per year, based on a regular, full-time schedule. The amount of pay offered will be determined by a number of factors, including but not limited to qualifications, market data, geographic location, and internal guidelines.
