What we're looking for

Toyota Financial Services Bank (TFSB) is looking for a highly motivated person to fill the role of Senior Analyst whose primary focus is to support Loss Forecasting across the bank's various product portfolios. An effective candidate will be able to combine quantitative and qualitative analysis to assess risks and drivers of risk and help management make better, data-driven decisions. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Supporting the calculation of quarterly loss forecasts which includes a CECL compliant Allowance for Credit Losses (ACL) and associated SOX controls.

• Derive insights from visualization and analytics tools to monitor and measure credit risk.

• Collaborate with Accounting, Compliance, Data Science, Data & Analytics, Finance, Information Digital Systems, and Treasury on various activities related to loss forecasting and key performance metrics.

What you'll be doing

Support the allowance for credit loss (ACL) forecasting process based on the CECL accounting standards for the consumer and commercial portfolios of TFSB. Including:

  • Execute and document SOX controls to ensure forecast accuracy and SOX compliance.
  • Summarize forecast results and identify key drivers of trends and changes.
  • Review reporting and presentation material prior to distribution to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Deep dive loss forecast results to uncover hidden insights and determine the root cause of unexpected results.
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis for potential impacts to the ACL not captured by the model.
  • Support all quarterly audit related activities including, but not limited to, providing external auditors with all supporting data and documentation to ensure smooth quarter closings
  • Design, develop, and implement new reporting capabilities to monitor model inputs, model outputs, internal risk factors, and external risk factors impacting credit loss.
  • Identify forecast deviations from expectations by understanding the "why" through routine monitoring and updates of business results.
  • Extract, clean, analyze, and investigate large, disparate, disorderly data sets.
  • Develop automation of all quarterly monitoring and reporting
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Compliance, Data Science, Data & Analytics, Finance, Information Digital Systems, and Treasury on activities related to credit loss forecast, ad hoc reporting and monitoring emerging risk trends and deployed strategies to ensure consumption in future forecast projects.

Qualifications/ What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Math, Business Analytics, or other quantitative degree required
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience
  • Programming / Analytics ideally in support of Risk, Credit, Finance, Accounting, Consumer Lending
  • Proficiency manipulating large data sets using SQL, Python
  • Proficiency in Tableau, PowerBI or another visualization software
  • Basic statistics knowledge
  • Strong analytical skills
