Who we're looking for
Toyota's Toyota Financial Services Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated experience-driven, solution-oriented, self-organizing, and passionate about delivering frictionless software distribution capabilities to end-users. An important aspect of this role is the ability Consultant - Software Packaging Engineer.
This role will be responsible for packaging and deploying applications across Windows and macOS endpoints. The ideal candidate will have expertise in application packaging tools such as InstallShield, Admin Studio, and JAMF Composer, along with proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell, Bash, and Python. Key responsibilities include creating, testing, and maintaining software packages, ensuring compatibility and security, and automating deployment processes. Strong knowledge of operating system internals, software distribution methods, and endpoint management solutions like Intune, SCCM and JAMF Pro is essential. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively are required.
Reporting to the End User Compute Manager - Design & Engineering, the person in this role will support the Toyota Financial Services department's objective to elicit requirements from customers not familiar with the underlying technologies and to manage key Service Level Agreements to ensure the supplier is delivering on the key services being provided. As well as serve as the key software distribution contact with TFS operational support providers. This will include level 3 escalations and initiative planning activities.
What you'll be doing
- Designing, building, testing, and deploying software packages for the TFS end-user computing environment.
- Developing a keen understanding of the end-user operating environment and contributing to the development and execution of a roadmap to deliver a world-class software distribution capability.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with affiliates and identifying opportunities to improve the user experience by proposing changes to service offerings.
- Designing and delivering software packaging, operating system imaging, and internal "app store" capabilities to the organization, including over 7000 users from multiple office locations, with distinct use cases.
What you bring
- High School Education or Equivalent.
- Equivalent years of relevant work experience (in a similar field and/or industry).
- Progressive experience in broad-based IT experience participating in projects and playing a key role toward successful implementation of projects.
- Conceptual understanding with deep and/or broad expertise over multiple subjects within an area of expertise.
- Strong industry awareness within an area of expertise.
- High-level communication skills to collaborate, influence, and persuade others.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create and present concepts and recommendations to senior management.
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs.
- Progressive experience designing and building software packages.
- Progressive experience designing and building operating system images.
- Experience supporting software distribution systems.
Added bonus if you have
- Associate Two-Year College Degree.
- Extensive years of relevant work experience (in a similar field and/or industry).
