About the Team
The infrastructure team supports the company's fast growth by building and operating hyper-scale datacenters as well as vastly distributed global edge networks. To support the fast growth and manage the massive content on the platform, ByteDance's infrastructure team is building hyber-scale datacenters globally which host hundreds of thousands of servers.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for implementing Security features and deployments to PoP/Edge locations of industry standards
- Participate in site selection for new Edge PoPs focusing on datacenter compliance with all relevant security policies and overseeing standards of critical physical infrastructure
- Work with capacity planner to ensure network/server capacity for business needs

- Drive and manage multiple programs covering a range of areas (PoP, datacenter network & backbone networks, subsea cable networks) with a team of cross functional partners
- Design and deliver large-scale network projects composing of dark fiber, leased waves, IP transit and peering circuits, colo space, power, cross connects, point of presence and content delivery networks build
- Supporting Internal/External Audits and improving processes for Security and Compliance standards in Edge/Datacenter environment
- Leading Security related initiatives for Infrastructure Deployment and Operational support
- Create deployment package consisting of scope of work, rack elevation, portmap, IP addressing, floor plans and power utilization
- Lead technical planning with ISP for interconnection and caching projects
- Strong documentation skills for technical processes & procedures
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Security, Computer science, Electrical engineering, Mechanical engineering or any equivalent technical field.
- Technical experience in telecommunication networks including Fixed Network, Transmission and IP Technologies(IPT, IX, Peering).
- Knowledge of co-location infrastructure including facilities, site selection, operations.
- Knowledge of Linux and hardware systems.
Preferred qualifications
- 5 years of experience in network infrastructure space, related to solutions and/or project management experience in CDN and/or telecom-related field.
- 5 years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
- Excellent oral and written communication. Ability to express ideas clearly and provide effective remote technical guidance and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with Security and Compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, SOC 1&2 Type 2, NIST 800-53
- PMP and relevant networking certifications such as CCNP, IT/Security related or JNCIP is a plus
- Direct hands-on experience with IP Cameras and Access Control Systems
- Enjoys solving technical problems and challenges

Job Information
[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $128160 - $304000 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others.
