Product Designer, Effect House

Responsibilities
- Design for Effect House: Lead the design of a powerful and intuitive AR creation tool that empowers designers to build, publish, and share high-quality augmented reality effects on TikTok.
- Framework & Interaction Design: Apply strong systems thinking and logical reasoning to define the interaction frameworks and design guidelines that reduce complexity for creators and support scalable product growth.
- End-to-End Execution: Drive high-impact projects independently from concept to launch delivering polished, visually compelling UI and maintaining high design standards throughout the process.
- Innovation & Emerging Tech: Stay ahead of industry trends in 3D design, AR, AI, and creative tools. Use this passion to explore forward-thinking solutions that enhance both the designer experience and product impact.
- User-Centric Approach: Immerse yourself in the product and community to deeply understand user needs. Leverage user research and data insights to identify pain points, propose actionable design solutions, and ensure their successful implementation.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
- 1+ year of product design experience, particularly in web-based tools or platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to lead design projects from strategy to launch with meticulous attention to detail.
- Skilled in rapid prototyping, iteration, and generating multiple design concepts efficiently.
- Strong communication and storytelling skills; capable of clearly articulating design rationale and vision.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and navigating diverse stakeholder input.
- Open-minded, self-driven, and resilient. Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and a proactive mindset when faced with challenges.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in A/B testing and data-informed design decisions.
- Knowledge of front-end development or familiarity with engineering workflows.
- Deep interest in TikTok, AR/VR, and the creator ecosystem.

Job Information

[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $115000 - $229500 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
