About the Team:
The Global Legal IP Protection and Platform Governance team operates under the global legal. The team is responsible for establishing global external and internal policies and rules, implementing IP laws and regulations in each region, and ensuring our platform is safe and trustworthy for not only users, but also IP rights holders. Within the legal work framework, the team is committed to protecting IP rights.
We are looking for an experienced IP attorney for a position that offers the candidate a unique opportunity to be part of a growing team dedicated to working with cross functional teams, especially in South East Asia, to develop and improve our platform governance in a fast-paced environment. The candidate must be highly collaborative, self-motivated, a strategic thinker, and intellectually curious.
Responsibilities
- Support teams in establishing and updating IP governance-related policies, framework, internal SOP, and developing tools and processes for improving user/right owner experience while minimizing IPR risk.
- Implement laws and regulations from the global and local market level and provide practical legal advice and solutions.
- Support teams in optimizing the platform IP protection strategy based on legal requirements, industry practices, and business developments to minimize IP risk and enhance the industry's trust.
- Support team in responding to, investigating, managing, and resolving high-impact IP disputes or related incidents.
- Work together with the business team to manage external relationships with brands, industry associations, law enforcement, and government regulators to build IP protection reputation.
- Drive events and activities to promote awareness of IP protection for internal and external stakeholders.
- Work closely with XFN teams and driving XFN and cross-regional projects.
- Provide legal consultations, identifying IP risks and providing business-focused, solution-oriented legal advice and guidance.
- Organize and provide IP training.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years experience as an IP lawyer working in a top law firm or an in-house legal team of relevant industries, responsible for IP governance.
- Experience in E-commerce/social media IP protection will be a plus.
- Bachelor's degree an accredited law school.
- Familiar with IP laws, rules, regulations, and industry's best practices.
- Strong project management skills, with experience in collaborating with different stakeholders.
- Familiar with the trends and developments of IP laws and regulations in platform governance.
- Able to develop and execute project plans, independently monitor, and ensure timely delivery of project deliverables.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and effectively liaise with internal and external teams.
- Demonstrated capacity for critical thinking. Ability to manage ambiguity and thrive in a fast-paced working environment.
- Able to identify risks in a forward-looking manner and provide solutions.
- Proven ability to cross-functionally over multiple regions and meet tight deadlines.
