We are seeking an experienced Communications professional to lead our in-market communications team in the UK & Ireland as part of a broader regional and global organisation.

The role is responsible for driving and executing TikTok communications and media strategies, overseeing local campaigns, managing media cycles, building and managing relationships with the media and KOLs, with a strong focus on proactive storytelling to help amplify the TikTok brand. The role is a crucial interface between other teams, working closely with Global Communications Center of Excellences and cross-functional partners.

The ideal candidate should possess strong team and stakeholder management skills, business acumen, the ability to identify key priorities and risks, to connect the dots and see the bigger picture in a growing global organization.

We seek an excellent communicator and storyteller with proven experience in strategic communication roles, adept at building relationships internally and externally. The ideal candidate thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and can respond to a variety of situations with empathy and a people-first mindset.

- Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy that aligns with TikTok's brand and business objectives in the UK. Ensure that our messaging is consistent, impactful, and resonates with our target audience.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, influencers, third-party agencies, and other relevant stakeholders. Act as a spokesperson for TikTok in the UK and effectively manage media inquiries.
- Anticipate potential communication challenges and proactively develop strategies to address them. Be prepared to handle crisis communications and provide guidance to the team during challenging situations.
- Oversee the creation and distribution of compelling and engaging content across various communication channels, including social media, press releases, and blog posts.
- Work collaboratively within a center of excellence type structure (i.e., corporate, executive, media relations, safety communications, etc.) to drive unified, cohesive communication strategies with local impact and global scale.
- Develop strong working relationships with cross-functional partners across the company including operations, marketing, government relations, global business solutions, LIVE, eCommerce to provide strategic guidance, local insights, team representation and serve as core member of the UK and Ireland cross-functional leadership council.
- Lead and mentor a team of communication professionals, providing guidance, support and resource allocation oversight to ensure the successful execution of communication initiatives.
- Serve as a key voice on the European and Global communications team to represent the needs of the market, both in terms of external messaging as well as internal team development.


- Minimum of 12 years of communications experience, including running a communications team, either in-house or within an agency environment.
- Profound knowledge of the UK tech industry, with established relationships with tech, business, and consumer media in both markets.
- Excellent strategic, analytical, and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications or a related field.
- Proven experience in strategic communication roles, preferably in the technology or social media industry.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build and nurture relationships.
- Data-driven approach to decision-making and a track record of leveraging data to inform communication strategies.
- An experienced people manager, capable of developing and growing a talented team.
- Experience working in cross-border, multi-cultural, fast-paced environment is preferred.
