About the team:
TikTok video system is a world-leading video platform that provides multi-media storage, delivery, transcoding services. As a part of the US Tech Service department, we are responsible for building the next generation video processing platform which provides excellent experiences for billions of users around the world.

Join the Video Platform team to navigate the complexities of large scale distributed systems spanning multiple regions, managing vast data streams from billions of users. Dive into the distinctive challenges posed by video on demand and live streaming, where ensuring low latency and high quality videos is paramount across diverse network conditions.

In order to enhance collaboration and cross-functional partnerships, among other things, at this time, our organization follows a hybrid work schedule that requires employees to work in the office 3 days a week, or as directed by their manager/department. We regularly review our hybrid work model, and the specific requirements may change at any time.

About the role:
TikTok is all empowered by our cutting-edge cloud technologies. As data analyst in this team, you will have the opportunity to tackle challenges with analyzing and mining the huge amount of data to understand and improve the video streaming experience of billions of users around the world while leveraging your experience and expertise in data analysis and data mining.

Responsibilities
Take ownership of data analysis tasks pertaining to Video on Demand and Live Streaming products.
Independently analyze data, identify issues, coordinate resources and solve issues.
Cultivate and maintain a suite of reporting and intelligence assets that are easy to understand, well socialized and intuitive.
Synthesize and translate complex findings into relevant and actionable insights.
Perform in-depth analysis and deliver insights on US and global initiatives.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline like Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or related to subjects is preferred.
2+ years working as a Data Analyst and/or a similar role that involves strategic operations or insight delivery.
2+ years of coding experience with SQL, Python or other scripting language
2+ years of experience with Tableau or other data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Looker, Datapine, Kibana, etc...).

Preferred Qualifications:
Possess a relentless, user-centric and result-driven mindset coupled with strong problem-solving skills and an ability to break down complex problems and propose alternative, new ways of thinking.
Experience with data analysis in video and/or live streaming products is a plus.

Job Information

[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $86555 - $177777 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
