This is a key leadership role within the CoCounsel Product Team and is responsible for the platform that delivers AI capabilities to Thomson Reuters customers globally. The CoCounsel Platform provides tools and technologies that enable teams within Thomson Reuters to build and deploy AI capabilities for CoCounsel. These technologies are fundamental to the success of CoCounsel; they empower teams across Thomson Reuters to leverage their expertise and provide innovative customer solutions powered by Generative AI.

The CoCounsel Platform team is also responsible for delivering platform capabilities to CoCounsel customers, third-party developers, and partners. These capabilities allow developers to create new solutions that leverage Thomson Reuters' intelligence, content, and technology to deliver differentiated value to the market.

We are seeking a Director of Product Management to lead a team of product managers in defining and executing CoCounsel Platform's developer strategy, both internally and externally. This role involves delivering technology, content, and processes that enable and support developers to integrate with and build on the CoCounsel Platform. You will be responsible for developing and executing a commercially successful strategy while managing the needs of developers, customers, and other stakeholders.

In this opportunity as Director Product Management - Developer Experience, you will:

  • Define and drive developer experience strategy aligned with customer and business outcomes.
  • Design and implement best-in-class developer experiences grounded in deep empathy for developer needs.
  • Balance innovation with practicality by integrating cutting-edge capabilities alongside standard tools and processes used by developers.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team of product managers, setting strategic direction and fostering a culture of empowerment and success.
  • Build and nurture developer communities, leveraging network effects to achieve measurable commercial impact.
  • Establish and execute governance frameworks that ensure sustainable and scalable ecosystem growth.
  • Integrate AI into developer workflows, recognizing its transformative role in both development practices and customer-facing capabilities.
  • Champion developer experience across the organization, influencing cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Deliver incremental value rapidly by breaking down complex initiatives into manageable, high-impact deliverables within matrixed environments.
  • Continuously learn and adapt, demonstrating resilience and curiosity in the face of challenges and change.

About You:
You're a fit for the role of Director Product Management - Developer Experience if you have the following required qualifications:

  • At least 10 years' experience as a product manager on a technology product, with at least 3 years leading teams of product managers.
  • Experience managing developer or technical products.
  • Deep domain expertise in developer experience and platform ecosystems.
  • Strong developer-as-customer mindset; passionate advocate for the needs of developers.
  • Technical experience preferred; able to synthesize technically complex problems and translate them into developer-focused solutions.
  • Process-driven; understands the importance of good governance and the role data plays in managing developer ecosystems.
  • Proven track record of successfully executing complex initiatives and consistently delivering on expectations.
  • Excellent communicator, able to explain complex concepts in easy-to-understand terms to both internal and external stakeholders, in both small and large settings.
  • Skilled at influencing decision-makers on product strategy.

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations.
Eligible office location(s) for this role include one or more of the following: New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and/or Irvine, CA; McLean, VA; Washington, DC. The base compensation range for the role in any of those locations is $177,380 - $329,420.
For any eligible US locations, unless otherwise noted, the base compensation range for this role is $154,000 - $286,000.
This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
