Attorney Editor - Commentary Author Relations will be responsible for documentation of any contractual relationship we have with creators of content including legal analysis, contract review, and research. Support the product and editorial teams by assisting with escalation of issues related to royalty issues, intellectual property rights and other issues that arise between TR and outside creators of content.
Represent Editorial in initiatives related to AI, contract reviews, compliance and risk, such as OneTrust and Ariba and any other policies related to vendor onboarding.
Author Relations Attorney Editors work collaboratively with colleagues in the United States, Canada, UK, and across the globe to ensure our Authors, Contractors, Freelancers and any other creators of content within the Thomson Reuters organization have consistent policies which maximize our ability to attract the most influential and knowledgeable talent to write content for our company.

About the Role:
In this opportunity as Attorney Editor, you will:
- Maintain and develop legal knowledge, skills and training as needed to complete your work and to stay current on legal trends and developments
- Demonstrate competence on company-specific systems, including customized editorial systems, necessary to perform your job functions
- Assist with training the Editorial teams on TR's standards of contracting, workflows for contract creation, author onboarding and how we document our relationships.
- Use your legal and editorial expertise to provide support in contract reviews for use in AI initiatives.
- Review contract templates for consistency for use by all editorial teams in all jurisdictions.
- Develop and maintain specialized knowledge and expertise of the OneTrust application to utilize the contract repository to provide efficient contract management and access to critical contract information.
About You:
You're a Fit for the Role of Attorney Editor, if You:
- Have a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school or other equivalent and relevant legal training.
- Are a self-starter with an aptitude for legal research and analysis.
- Have a keen eye for detail and established proofreading skills, and can focus on detail-specific tasks, in addition to being able to pivot your attention to address high-priority updates with little notice.
- Analytic thinker who uses logic and discretion to collaborate with global teammates to solve difficult problems.
- Are decisive with a focus on making quality decisions quickly.
- Have the ability to interpret, analyze, organize, and communicate complex legal material.
- Are comfortable with personal computers and familiar with word processing and online applications including the Microsoft 365 suite of apps.
- Can prioritize tasks and projects and pursue them with energy and drive.
- Are a great teammate who will work successfully in a global and collaborative environment.
- Are a strong, proactive, and assertive communicator who can speak and write clearly and effectively with all contacts, both in and outside Thomson Reuters, across the globe.
