Our PPD® Laboratory Services team has a direct impact on improving patient health through the expertise of scientists, industry thought-leaders and therapeutic experts. A day in a life:
Fulfills all of the duties of a Sr. Sample Coordinator in addition to oversight, coordination, and continued
development of the technical training needs of all sample coordinators. Mentors and assesses staff
through the normal course of their daily duties. Oversees scheduling of sample management staff and
assists management with oversight of the department
• Performs any or all Sample Coordinator functions to include oversight and
• performance of a variety of complex standard tasks and sample tasks (receipt, registration , routing, storage, special services as aliquoting, discards, , shipping, discard, destruction, etc.) in
• support of the Sample Management department.
• Oversees the scheduling of sample coordinators. Assists management with
• oversight of the department. Acts as back-up in the absence of management.
• Acts as a technical liaison for project-specific sample-management procedures.
• Actively trains, mentors and assesses the needs of the sample management
• staff. Manages staff training documents, assessments, and records.
• Responds to environmental unit alarms and participate in on-call responsibilities.
• Performs work assignments accurately and in a timely and safe manner.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Basic understanding of GLP/GCP
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Power Point
• Familiarity with environmental monitoring systems
• Effective time management and project management skills
• Good leadership abilities
• Strong detail orientation
• Problem solving/troubleshooting abilities
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
Education and Experience:
• High / Secondary school diploma or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
• Technical positions may require a certificate
• Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to at least 5 years) or equivalent combination of education, training, & experience.
