Job Description
The APJ Purification (PUR) Staff Scientist harmonizes with global Go-To-Market vision by ensuring regional alignment with PUR business unit (BU) metrics. A successful candidate plays a leading role to develop APJ-wide FAS processes and toolboxes that improves regional expertise, builds regional self-sufficiency and scale strategic technical capabilities to support business growth. The individual complements local technical teams and fills support gaps as needed and forms a key part of an impactful organization with a strong collaborative culture that bridges across regions, business units, divisions and groups.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Engagement
- Complement local PUR FAS pre- and post-sales support activities by providing deep technical expertise
- Support on resolving PUR product complaints raised by local teams
- Ensure Salesforce.com adoption for metrics as aligned with PUR BU
- Champions Practical Process Improvement (PPI) initiatives to improve technical engagement
Capability Development
- Identify and address regional technical training needs
- Grow effective shared technical resources
- Build SME (Subject matter expert) and SPOG (Single point of contact) networks
Drive Collaborations
- Develop and sustain alignments across BUs, functions and regions
- Coordinate field team involvements in Bioprocess Design Center (BDC) activities across APAC
- External: Participate in technical conferences and industry body forums
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences (Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Engineering), Masters or PhD degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years hands-on experience in Downstream Purification, within the Biotech, Biologics, and/or Biopharmaceutical industries in a technical capacity, and ideally served customer-facing/field application roles.
- Deep knowledge of downstream process development, scale-up and cGMP production workflows. Large-scale column packing experience with POROS will be highly preferred.
- Leading technical trainings. Authored technical application notes/publications/posters, and/or delivered technical presentations to international audiences.
- Strong English communicator, and proven cross-cultural influencing skills in Asia Pacific region.
