Job Description: Marketing Specialist

Position Summary:

The Marketing Specialist role will handle top-of-the funnel leads and is responsible for qualifying those leads. The Specialist will also enrich CRM data, process program applications, and communicate relevant information to our Commercial Team. Strong communication skills and a customer-centric attitude are required to be successful in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Qualify and route leads to Sales Team members. Research accounts when needed to identify the appropriate account mapping via inbound and outbound prospecting
  • Apply Salesforce.com to track activity and update lead, account, and opportunity information accurately and effectively
  • Enrich contacts for business solution leads, such as grant funding
  • Improve CRM data for various Marketing initiatives
  • Understand and communicate the value of doing business with Thermo Fisher Scientific
  • Communicate pertinent information with Sales account owner and intake feedback on qualification process
  • First point of contact for new business opportunities, primarily through email
  • Manage new contact creation and updates to existing contacts within CRM system

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Eager to engage with customers to capture information to pass to the sales team
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work independently
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or Business-related field
  • 1-3 years in lead qualification experience
  • Experience using Salesforce.com CRM
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a cross-functional team
  • Willingness to learn, be mentored, and improve
  • Desire to contribute to and improve on existing process

Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or Business-related field
  • 1-3 years in lead qualification experience
  • Experience using Salesforce.com CRM
