Job Description

What will you do?

You will assist engineers and scientists in developing new or updated electronics and electro-mechanical systems or components for genetic analysis instruments

• You will set up electronic systems and devices, assemble and connect system components.

• You will troubleshoot, test, modify, repair, malfunctions in circuitry in existing electronic products, equipment, and controls.

• You will assist in electronic component layouts and create schematics for PCBAs.

• You will assist in general procurement of components and hardware for the engineering development team.

Education Requirements - Candidate with AA degree or completed courses with certificate in electronics.

Experience Requirements - at least five years of experience with electronic experience - micro-electronics / semi-conductor work

• Ability to understand electrical schematics / diagrams, mechanical drawings, as well as written instructions and specifications.

• Experienced in PCB rework. Capable of hand soldering surface mount components as small as 0201 with magnification.

• Capable of crimping small connector terminals

• Experience in routing wiring in instruments and creating wire harnesses from scratch.

• Knowledge on how to use multimeter and oscilloscope to troubleshoot PCBAs.

• Experience with using MS Office software such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

• Good communication skills (written and verbal).

• The ability to work with team members across disciplines as well as good trouble-shooting skills, creative thinker and a positive attitude is a must.

• Willing to learn to use a business spend management (BSM) tool such as Coupa to procure electronic and mechanical hardware and manage payment

Compensation and Benefits
The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $32.11-$53.51.
