Job Description

An opportunity has arisen at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. for a Life Sciences Inside Sales Representative to join our team based in Villebon-sur-Yvette (Essonne).

This sales role is designed for a newly graduated BSc/MSc/PhD within Life Sciences, with some sales and/or lab experience, who demonstrates the desire, attitude and drive to work in a sales role.

The objective of this role is the direct two-way person-to-person interactions with customers that start and develop relationships which achieve the best possible sales representation for the organization whilst delivering and exceeding our annual operating targets. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the teams on their territorities with dediacted sales missions.

Key responsibilities:

• Ensure the achievement/overachievement of the sale target set by maintaining, identifying and developing sales opportunities through sales activities as assigned by the Sales Manager.
• Ensure that all necessary resources needed are used effectively in order to close sales in favor of the Company.
• Build and maintain relationships by teams, telephone and email with customers and potential customers to allow product and service information to be communicated and strategic information to be gathered. Consolidate these relationships occasionally by field actions.
• Support marketing campaigns and special projects in territories as assigned by the Sales Manager.
• Participate in sales, product and systems training presented by the company to develop appropriate selling skills, consistent with company philosophy, policies, and procedures.
• Work together with other sales to coordinate the approach on the accounts. This includes qualifying leads on high value accounts, supporting tender response, ensuring all in-bound sales enquiry qualification and quote generation, coordinating and performing demonstrations if needed.
• Develop and maintain detailed customer/prospect records and ensure that the relevant mailing list and database reflects this information.
• Regularly provide written and verbal communication of successes, challenges, best practices, to improve the overall operating efficiency of the team, region and sales organization.

Experience/Qualifications/Qualities:

• Degree in Life Science based subject; minimum BSc. T
• Fluent in French and English
• Good Communication skills, teams & telephone manner & tone, with excellent listening & questioning skills
• Strong capabilities to interact effectively with all customer types
• Ability to function effectively in a high-performance team
• Ability to manage time effectively, to prioritize and complete tasks required
• Demonstrates a positive attitude and desire to succeed
• Exhibits a high degree of flexibility in adapting to a rapidly changing business environment.
• Practical understanding of the sales process & buying cycle
• Computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office package
• Ability to travel occasionally to attend meetings, training sessions and customer facing events
• Office based with occasional visits performed in the field (10%)
• Previous telesales/sales experience is desirable
