Primary Functions:
- Prepare shipping documents and coordinate shipments with couriers, including finished pharmaceutical products.
- Write and maintain departmental procedures, ensuring compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and Thermo Fisher Scientific Global Trade Compliance (GTC) guidelines.
- Act as a liaison with project management to coordinate the receipt of client-supplied Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients and materials.
- Maintain knowledge of current import/export and customs regulations related to the shipment of pharmaceutical goods to and from the USA.
- Process dangerous goods shipments per applicable regulations.
- Follow up daily on all open shipments, expediting as needed.
- Transfer materials among appropriate storage locations as needed, recording inventory entries per applicable SOPs.
- Receive, inspect, and quarantine components using SAP for material check-in.
- Support the material handling team with material transfers and other production support activities.
- Exhibit the 4i Values (Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement).
Education:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field is beneficial.
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
Experience/Requirements:
- 3-5 years in a warehouse/shipping/receiving environment, preferably in a regulated environment.
- 1 year of proven experience successfully processing shipments, preferably in a regulated environment.
- ISO or equivalent system and change control (FDA, cGMP) experience preferred.
- Computer proficiency required in Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. ERP (SAP) working knowledge is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Work setting includes warehouse, pharmaceutical research lab, and manufacturing plant.
- Frequent standing (up to 8 hours) and physical coordination sufficient to move about various locations.
- Ability to manipulate (lift, carry, move) medium to heavy weights of 35-75 pounds.
- Visual acuity to use a keyboard, computer monitor, and operate warehouse equipment and a forklift.
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, talk, and hear for prolonged periods of time.
