Digital Senior Strategist (LA Times Studios)

El Segundo, CA

The Senior Digital Strategist will leverage strategic thinking and proven digital practices to achieve and exceed digital sales targets, directly contributing to the organization's business objectives. This position demands a strategic approach to aggressively developing new digital clients and a commitment to implementing strategic growth practices for existing medium to large accounts across the region and country.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategically develop new business by identifying and securing client-specific digital advertising opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the LA Times Studios account executives to expand digital solution opportunities with existing customers
  • Maximize revenue through a consultative sales approach, with the ability to represent solutions across the full portfolio of products: programmatic display, audio and video, CTV/OTT, SEO, SEM, paid social, targeted email, and native advertising
  • Identify customer needs through pre-call planning, utilization of marketing resources, competitive analysis, and customer feedback, to connect meaningful media solutions across our advertising portfolio
  • Maintain adherence to internal processes and reporting to ensure that all aspects of campaign management are executed correctly to achieve business objectives within the LA Times Studios CRM platform.
  • Utilize extensive understanding of the account base and related industries to help identify trends and patterns within specific verticals to help develop tailored digital advertising strategies & solutions.
  • Work collaboratively across the organization to build meaningful cross-platform new and existing client solutions based on client needs.
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management
  • Maintain current professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications. Required to attend internal meetings, training, and skill development workshops
  • Utilize LA Times Studios' support and account management teams to maximize sales efforts and optimizations.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Advertising, Marketing, Communications, and 5+ years of digital sales experience required OR 7+ years of digital sales experience
  • Possesses an expert level of digital sales knowledge
  • Ability to research digital advertising clients and target prospective new clients
  • Must attend 2 - 4 networking conferences and events, approaching and fostering new contacts whenever the situation fits
  • Must have a proven track record of quota achievement
  • Working knowledge and experience using a CRM and Google products to manage day-to-day activities
  • Ability to excel in a highly competitive environment and adaptability to a rapidly evolving media landscape
  • Effective relationship-building skills
  • Excellent analytical, written, oral communication, and presentation skills
  • Self-starter, possesses high energy, creativity, and analytical skills
  • Requires reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • New business development experience and growing annual digital revenues above 2 million are a plus
  • Media industry knowledge is a plus
  • Publisher industry knowledge is a plus
  • Campaign fulfillment knowledge of DSPs, paid search, and paid social is a plus.
