The Senior Subscriber Retention Strategist plays a vital role in the Consumer Retention Department, tasked with developing data-driven strategies to enhance subscriber tenure and minimize churn. By harnessing deep insights from customer segmentation, analytics, and personalized communication techniques, this position significantly influences subscriber retention and lifetime value across both digital and print products. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Loyalty and Retention Strategy, the Senior Subscriber Retention Strategist is essential in driving the department's success and ensuring the company's growth and stability.

• Develop personalized subscriber journeys informed by customer insights, segmentation analysis, and subscriber lifecycle stages
• Identify and prioritize segments based on lifetime value, churn propensity, and subscriber behavior to inform targeted campaigns.
• Collect, analyze, and report on subscriber data to identify retention opportunities and engagement trends
• Provide actionable insights through concise and impactful reports to inform strategic decisions
• Partner closely with content, analytics, product, and customer service teams to implement engagement initiatives
• Lead continuous test-and-learn cycles, systematically refining subscriber engagement and retention tactics based on measurable outcomes.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree
• 5+ years of experience in digital marketing, with a focus on subscriber retention and customer lifecycle management for subscription-based businesses
• Demonstrated proficiency with personalization and segmentation platforms (e.g., email, app, on-site, CDP/CRM)
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, Tableau, and Google Analytics
• Excellent strategic thinker with experience creating concise, strategic presentations and briefs to communicate strategies and results
• Strong communication, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills
• A self-starter capable of developing thoughtful strategies and effectively influencing cross-functional stakeholders

The annualized base salary for this role will range between $80,000 and $90,000. Base compensation is reflective of many factors, including, but not limited to, the market in which one lives/works, individual education level, skills, certifications and experience. Note: variable compensation is not reflected in these figures and based on the role, may be applicable.
