The Back Office Application Development department within HIMCO is responsible for development and maintenance of all business related applications and the related data environments supporting the business. This role also requires that you develop and maintain a solid working knowledge of the investment management business.

You will work on multiple projects at a time under general guidance of a Senior Developer. You must be able to work with several different tools and technologies. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and maintain a solid working knowledge of the investment industry and business processes.
  • Participate on assignments and projects, clarifying business requirements, performing application development and modification activities, as well as related maintenance and support.
  • Participate in planning sessions with clients, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements. Engage in client interaction.
  • Develop applications or perform application maintenance per written technical specifications with general supervision from Senior Developers on the team.
  • Develop or modify software application modules using disciplined software development processes. Assist with the development or modification of software application modules, following instructions, and using disciplined software development processes.
  • Apply quality assurance principles and processes, ensure application meets needs of client and business, and test and implement application modules that have been developed or modified.
  • Provide ongoing maintenance of applications or tools.
  • Handle support issues within area of expertise.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years' experience developing systems with .NET, C#, and solid understanding of SQL and relational databases.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline from an accredited college or university.

Nice to have Experience:

  • Experience in supporting the implementation and integration of vendor systems and packages is a plus.
  • Prior exposures to investment domain is a plus.
  • ETL tools experience
  • AWS cloud implementation experience

This role will offer a hybrid work schedule with a mix of days working in the office and from home.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$83,440 - $125,160
