The Global Specialty Digital Solutions Business Development Lead will play a pivotal role in relationship management, production performance and execution across Global Specialty's digital assets. In this highly visible role, the candidate will have accountability for digital acquisition execution and management of several digital distribution relationships. The candidate will be responsible for achievement of our digital acquisition objectives and overall Financial Performance for their assigned digital distribution relationships including:

  • Digital acquisition asset performance - including submission flow, conversion rates and alignment with Global Specialty's targeted portfolio mix.
  • New distribution partner identification, negotiating and onboarding.
  • Top and bottom-line financial performance.
  • Collaboration with internal stakeholders to identify and address market opportunities to profitability grow the Global Specialty presence and portfolio through our various digital channels.

Distribution Management:

  • Identify and build relationships with new digitally focused distribution partners, including retail agents/brokers, wholesalers and technology vendors. Generate demand and maintain backlog of potential integration partners.
  • Develop and maintain awareness of digital distribution strategies of Global Specialty's major (e.g. Top 15) appointed agents and brokers.
  • Train distribution relationships on our digital assets, workflows, product capabilities and appetite.
  • Engage with assigned digital distribution relationships to establish top-line premium objectives and build strong partnership to profitably grow our portfolio through digital acquisition.
  • Act as a key point of contact for external partners interacting with our digital assets.

Performance Analytics:

  • Work with Data Science/Business Intelligence and IT organizations to source and generate key performance indicators on Global Specialty's digital acquisition and service assets.
  • Monitor performance and trends for our digital assets - identify areas of opportunity to optimize production results and market positioning.
  • Develop and maintain strong knowledge of digital distribution landscape and provide insights into ways Global Specialty can leverage our digital assets to achieve goals (e.g. financial, customer experience/satisfaction).
  • Monitor pricing and underwriting quality results to ensure efficacy of digital assets in growing portfolio of desired business in line with underwriting rules.
  • Collaborate with IT and Global Specialty Product/Business functions as appropriate on technology or product enhancements that will accelerate the growth of our digital acquisition assets.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of seven+ years' experience in Specialty Lines underwriting or distribution management.
  • Dynamic leader with strong influencing skills and experience successfully managing large partnerships.
  • Understanding of Insurance technology, including contemporary technologies and platform services and integrations.
  • Experience in E&S markets and with large Wholesalers preferred.
  • Strong communication and executive presence, both verbal and written. Proficient in presentation building and delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage data and analytics to identify trends and drive improved execution and financial performance.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%

Location:

This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in the Hartford, CT; Charlotte, NC; Boston, MA; or Chicago, IL office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$107,920 - $161,880
