Attorney General Andrea Campbell is seeking a highly motivated individual with a commitment to public service to join the Gaming Enforcement Division as an Administrative Assistant in the Boston office. The Gaming Enforcement Division is a statewide team of prosecutors, investigators, and administrative and other staff, partnered with the Massachusetts State Police and charged with investigating and prosecuting gaming-related crimes pursuant to M.G.L. c. 12, § 11M.

Primary Duties: The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support to the Gaming Enforcement Division in the Boston Office, including its State Police Detective Unit. Responsibilities include organizing and maintaining files; scheduling meetings and appointments; systematically archiving materials; drafting and proofreading routine and confidential correspondence; preparing grand jury and trial subpoenas, discovery materials, court activity reports, weekly/monthly/quarterly reports, and other legal documents; inputting and updating case information in the case management database; maintaining legal case files; processing citizen complaints; tracking various intakes from the general public and referrals from other state agencies; tracking and routinely auditing division equipment; coordinating with the Budget Division to complete all Division purchasing and reimbursements; assisting with special projects; providing general office assistance, and other duties, as required. The Administrative Assistant is also responsible for greeting members of the public, screening complaints, and providing assistance and information.

Position Type: Full-Time/Non-Exempt

Salary: $52,890 to $56,700, commensurate with experience

Qualifications

Position Requirements : A bachelor's or associate degree or an equivalent combination of related education and/or prior administrative experience is required. Applicants must possess strong word processing and computer skills, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, the ability to pay close attention to detail, and possess effective, professional verbal and written communication skills. Must be a self-starter and possess the ability to exercise sound judgment in decision-making. Confidentiality and a high level of professionalism are necessary. Must be able to work as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a connection to the people and communities we serve and an interest in supporting a respectful, diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment .
