Administrative Assistant

The Cape and Islands District Attorney's Office serves all of the people of the Cape and Islands, we have offices in Barnstable, Orleans, Falmouth, Edgartown and Nantucket. We are seeking a full time Administrative Assistant to work Monday through Friday 8:30am-4:30pm in our Barnstable office. This is an in-person position and prior administrative experience is preferred but not required.

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for a variety of tasks, including answering phones, filing documents, preparing reports, data entry, client outreach and providing general office support. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet visitors and direct them to the appropriate staff member.
  • Answer phone calls and emails in a timely manner.
  • Organize and maintain filing systems.
  • Maintain office supplies and equipment.
  • Perform data entry tasks as needed.
  • Provide general administrative support to staff members.
  • Other duties assigned.

Qualifications

  • Prior administrative experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing.
  • Ability to work independently.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to manage prolonged periods sitting/standing at a desk and working at a computer. Will occasionally be required to stand and stoop, kneel, or crouch, and must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
