The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Benefits Accountant to join the team in either Renton, WA, Chicago, IL, or Hazelwood, MO.

This position is a member of the Enterprise Benefits Accounting (EBA) team. The EBA team is responsible for the accounting and reporting of Boeing's and its subsidiaries' employee benefit plans. This position works primarily on health and welfare plans and interfaces with trustee, recordkeepers, third party administrators, insurance carriers, consultants, human resources and other finance and accounting teams within Boeing.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Review plan financial statements and filings, review/prepare general ledger and plan journal entries and general ledger and plan and trust account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, completeness and timeliness of accounting data and financial reporting
  • Prepare/review benefit costs/rebates/refunds/subsidies accounting and reconciliations, including accruals
  • Prepare/review cost allocation and cash forecasts
  • Lead support for cost claims and audits, support external audits of employee benefit plans, and internal and external audits of the Company
  • Review/prepare trend analysis
  • Review benefits disbursement support to ensure accuracy and existence
  • Verify contribution/premium rates and account mapping during annual update
  • Research items requested by third party administrators
  • Analyze and interpret new Company directives, contracts, and accounting and regulatory requirements and implement changes to processes and controls
  • Develop and lead implementation of process improvements
  • Update and maintain accounting/reporting tools
  • Participate in special projects as necessary

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

BasicQualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's Degree or Higher
  • 5+ years of accounting experience
  • 1+ year experience with employee benefits

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience using the theory and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc.).
