The Boeing Company, Flight Simulation | Labs (FSL), is looking for an experienced Real Time Software Engineer to help us develop cutting-edge software simulation models in support of the Navy's MQ-25 program.

Imagine yourself driving development for the first fleet fielded autonomous carrier-based aircraft. The MQ-25 is the first autonomous aircraft to join the Navy's carrier-based fleet. You will be joining a team of software engineers and integrators making history, at the leading edge of technology, developing software and providing laboratory support for our Hardware in the Loop (HITL) and Software Development Lab (SDL) labs.

As an experienced software engineer on this team, you will leverage our experience in building models to execute complex and novel solutions to difficult problems. Your impact will be seen across the Flight Sim Labs Organization and the Navy customer, to inspire new generations and help maintain a military advantage.

As part of this team, you will collaborate closely with other teams across the MQ-25 program and The Boeing Company (Air Vehicle, Mission Systems, Advanced Development, etc.)

Position Responsibilities:
  • Leads activities to develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
  • Leads development of code and integration of complex software components into a fully functional software system
  • Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met
  • Provides technical leadership for software projects and leads software supplier management activities
  • Leads development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics
  • Executes and documents software research and development projects
  • Plans, executes and documents software research and development projects. Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations
  • Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards. Works under minimal direction

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate may be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:

This position requires the ability to obtain a secret US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. Ability to obtain secret US Security clearance post-start.

Required Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance Post-Start
  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics
  • More than 9-years' Experience in software programming in Python, C++, and C#.
  • Experience working with software development tools such as JIRA, Bitbucket, Jenkins
  • Experience working Agile software development

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Modeling and Simulation Experience

Typical Education/Experience:
  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master)
  • In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Travel:

This position will require occasional travel up to 10%.

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.
