Job Title: Sr Analyst, Strategic Development

Reports to: Manager, Strategic Development

Location: Louisville, Salt Lake City, Houston or Remote (US territory only)

AES Clean Energy (AESCE) is seeking a Sr. Analyst, Strategic Development for the central region (SPP and ERCOT). The Strategic Development team is responsible for creating AESCE's greenfield pipeline of utility-scale solar and battery storage projects. The role will work cross-functionally to establish and implement siting strategies in these regions. The successful candidate will have experience working on renewable projects in SPP and/or ERCOT.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with Market and Growth Strategy teams to gain understanding of market demand and customer related factors that influence prospecting
  • Work with Policy team on identifying, tracking, and influencing policy related to development and siting in target markets
  • Coordinate with Transmission Strategy and Interconnection teams to track interconnection rules, RTO policies, and transmission buildout that impacts strategic decision making
  • Handle the selection of new potential injection points for solar and battery storage projects
  • Identify viable and competitive project sites using various IT platforms
  • Work with Transmission Strategy team to complete power flow studies in target markets
  • Manage prospect diligence from subject matter authorities in Interconnection, Permitting, Land, Real Estate, Engineering and Development and make recommendations on which prospects to move forward with
  • Work with Land Acquisition team to initiate and manage land campaigns for viable prospects
  • Manage preparation and approvals needed for interconnection queue filings in close coordination with the Interconnection team
  • Complete handoff of early stage development projects to Developers
  • Implement and continuously improve internal processes for prospect creation and diligence

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2-3 years' of relevant experience
  • Knowledge and capabilities to work in Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point
  • Experience with GIS or mapping tools preferred
  • Experience with data analysis preferred
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Diligent, detailed oriented, and dynamic. Able to self-organize priorities

The expected salary for this position, at commencement of employment, is between $85.000 and $106.250/Annual; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements such as annual bonus, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, life, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
