Job Description

The R ole

The primary responsibility of this position is to increase customer transactions together with SUSE channel partners in the Alps region while exceeding sales and coverage targets for defined territory-based customers in the German-speaking region of Switzerland and focusing on acquiring new opportunities.

To achieve excellent results, it is critical that the Inside Partner Executive in this hybrid role understands all aspects of successful and effective partner management, sales acumen, developing existing customers and growing SUSE with a focus on customer transactions in collaboration with partners supports.

The role sits within the SUSE Partner organization , reporting into Channel Director DACH and dotted line to the Country Manager Alps.

Focus A reas

As a n Inside Partner Executive ( Alps ) in this h ybrid role, you will be responsible for the following areas:
  • The Inside Partner Executive ( IPE ) is responsible for partner management of a few selected named channel partners with focus on customer transactions and sales in SUSE Business Critical Linux Product portfolio (BCL) and the Enterprise Container Solutions (ECS) portfolio. To realize this the Inside Partner Executive builds close relationships with named partners and named territory custo mers to enables initiatives to maximize the result. Related to customer opportunities the Inside Partner Executive supports the partners at every stage of the opportunity development until completion at the end customer .
  • As a n IPE you will be responsible for identifying , recruiting and building up new Partner business relationships for your defined market as part of the SUSE Sales team. It includes onboarding new partners, setting up sales and technical enablements , identifying first customer opportunities with partners and accompanying partner sales in customer opportunities.
  • The IPE acts as the first contact for all non-named partners in Alps , defined territory -based customer in Switzerland and takes care of the incoming partner inquiries from a sales perspective: support of partners in customer opportunities, regular invitations to SUSE enablement training courses, SUSE events, etc. The IPE regularly checks whether we can expand our cooperation with those partners.
  • As a n Inside Partner Executive, you also act as the first contact for our local distributors in both countries for daily sales engagement. This task also includes topics such as: partner communication about the distribution, partner recruitment along with the distribution and supporting the distribution in opportunities with the channel partners
Preferred Experience & Skills
  • Channel Partner Management: Demonstrated experience in managing and nurturing relationships with channel partners, specifically in the technology or software industry.
  • Technology Background: Familiarity with SUSE's product portfolio, particularly in Business Critical Linux (BCL) and Enterprise Container Solutions (ECS), or similar technologies, is highly desirable.
  • Partner Recruitment: Experience in identifying, recruiting, and onboarding new channel partners. Ability to assess partner capabilities and align them with organizational goals.
  • Distributor Engagement: Knowledge of working with distributors, including effective communication, partner recruitment, and collaboration in sales opportunities.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to convey complex technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills to facilitate successful partner agreements and close deals.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively within the SUSE Sales team and other cross-functional teams, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Technical Enablement: Capability to provide sales and technical enablement to partners, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively sell SUSE solutions.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address partner and customer challenges effectively.
