Principal Business Systems Analyst

Job Summary:

The Principal Business Systems Analyst will perform a crucial role within projects by "connecting the dots" throughout the organization to identify common cross-organizational needs and capture synergies for collaborative solutions. This position is responsible for defining and establishing the business and technical requirements and configurations for software and business solutions, including but not limited to data flows and business process flows. The Principal Business Systems Analyst will define integrated workflows, business processes, business information, and transitions when multiple systems or functions are impacted.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and enhance the strategic partnership between IT and business partners, helping to create effective solutions for key internal initiatives.
  • Actively participate in the entire system development lifecycle from solution design through build, implementation, rollout, and testing
  • Understand and document key business processes and workflows to define the software system functional, non-functional, and operational requirements
  • Work with business customers to develop Business Requirements Documentation (BRD), Current and Future State Process maps and test cases
  • Develop Functional Design Documents (FDDs) and Data Maps to support new systems, features, and enhancements for software applications
  • Establish and document technical support requirements to enable Surescripts to maintain, support, and expand implementation of these systems
  • Collaborate with internal business and technical teams on implementation and testing processes, including the coordination of UAT
  • Provide learning enablement for users by creating and maintaining training and education
  • Support training of systems and workflows to enable users and support teams to use and maintain these solutions and processes
  • Provide end-user support and troubleshooting of issues to identify bugs and escalate appropriately
  • Assist in defining system usage and process-related metrics to determine whether the solutions are accomplishing objectives
  • Design and develop reports and conduct data analysis
  • Provide technical direction for projects or applications, and serve as a lead for other analysts, technical staff, and subject matter experts engaged in all phases of the system development lifecycle

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, management, computer science, or related field or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of experience in related, progressive roles as a business analyst, system analyst or business systems analyst
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in driving projects independently
  • 3+ years of experience working in business software implementation projects for financial or healthcare industry
  • Proven experience understanding business process and related data
  • Demonstrated knowledge of technical terminology and industry best practices for business and systems analysis
  • Must have the ability to translate complex technical information into terms easily understood by all stakeholders and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to write basic SQL/SOQL queries

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree in Computer Science or certification in Business or Systems Analysis
  • Experience as a Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or Systems Analyst Consultant
  • Experience with Salesforce, DocuSignCLM or other CRM/SAP business software
  • Advanced data analysis and reporting
  • Coding, Web-Design, UX Experience
  • Experience working in enterprise architecture of integrated business systems
  • Experience with Oracle SQL Database and ability to write advanced queries

At Surescripts, base pay is one part of our Total Rewards Package (which may also include bonus, benefits etc.) and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this position is $120,900 - $147,700 per year. Your base pay may vary within or outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including (but not limited to) your qualifications, skills, experience, and location.
