Overview
The Sunrun buyer will be responsible for the purchase of materials for the company. They will drive the procurement process and will closely partner with multiple internal departments to assist and review business requirements as needed. In support of these responsibilities, the buyer will negotiate with suppliers regularly, set and achieve cost reduction targets, examine prices, review and manage availability of products or services, compare scope of works and review alternatives to fulfill objectives. The buyer will also develop a sourcing and procurement strategy and update policy and procedural documentation as needed.
Responsibilities
- Assure the procurement of manufacturing (direct) and non-manufacturing (indirect) materials, equipment and services.
- Create purchase orders from requisitions
- Follow up of purchase orders to ensure that delivery dates are met or exceeded
- Facilitate periodic requests for quotes to all appropriate vendors to insure competitive pricing and payment terms.
- Identify and execute cost and payment terms improvement plans with suppliers.
- Maintain a vendor scorecard.
Additional responsibilities related to these functions will include:
- Assures requisitions are approved and complete
- Leverages buy opportunities through negotiations and the application of the competitive bidding process
- Requests quotations, sources and places purchase orders for assigned areas of responsibility
- Confirms purchase orders through effective follow-up and communications
- Expedites purchase orders and RFQ's
- Develops and maintains effective and accurate systems for monitoring of purchase orders and suppliers' performance
- Highlights and addresses any delays or impacts to meeting supply requirements and
- Supports the resolution of invoice discrepancies as they relate to incorrect quantity and price
- Interviews vendor representatives
- Provides effective interface with customers and suppliers
- Manages Accumatica as the primary tool for the application of selected purchasing processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Industrial or Operations Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive purchasing experience in related fields is required.
- Business related classes or experience is a plus, such as with APICS or Oracle.
- Ability to effectively participate as a member of a project team, interfacing with various departmental representatives is required.
- Analytical capability in terms of metrics, volumes, trends, financial information is required
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are required
- Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks and projects in an environment of competing priorities is required
- Solid problem solving and decision making skills are required
- Strong computer skills including MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint are required
- Worked in an ERP environment.

Starting salary/wage for this opportunity:
$53,614.20 to $71,485.60
