Associate, Advocacy

We need your passion, your skills, and your heart. We are seeking a high-energy Advocacy Associate to join our dynamic, fast-paced team. The Associate's portfolio will focus on work across Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, the Bronx, and Staten Island.

Reporting to our Lead of Advocacy, the Advocacy Associate will:

  • Carry out a strategic plan to advance elected official and community group engagement for your respective borough
  • Responsible for grassroots organizing of parents in close collaboration with school staff
  • Create and manage a directory of dedicated parent advocates for key moments
  • Execute key administrative functions for schools in your portfolio, including visits with elected officials, parent leadership meetings, and other events, as needed for external affairs campaigns.

We'd be excited to hear from you if:

  • You have 1-4 years of full-time work experience in events, project management and/or program administration
  • Exhibit a can-do attitude, high standard for excellence, sophisticated communication style, exceptional attention to detail, and a good sense of humor.
  • Communicate with grace and precision with a wide variety of external constituents;
  • Thrive on feedback in a high-pressure environment with a desire to learn and grow in a mission-driven environment.
  • Enjoy taking projects from concept to execution
  • Have a strong interest in education reform and/or politics
  • Exude professionalism, providing exceptional customer service, and creating a welcoming, positive environment for all staff and parents who participate in the program.
  • Be available to work occasional evenings and mornings, as necessary
  • You are ready for a challenging job but one that is very rewarding and teaches you many important skills.
  • Bilingual is a plus.

Compensation Range
Annual Salary: $58,500.00 - $68,000.00
Exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience.
