Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Packaging Engineer, R&D to support Stryker's Endoscopy Division. This role is Hybrid with a preference of 3-4 days per week at our San Jose, CA location.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

As the Packaging Engineer, you will manage, improve, and maintain sterile and non-sterile packaging validations and associated procedures within Total Endoscopy.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Maintain internal packaging validation work instructions are compliant and comprehensive per industry accepted procedures.
  • Manage sterile and non-sterile packaging from design to protocol writing and method determination through execution and test report authoring. Work with technicians, engineers, scientists, and outside test houses to ensure timely and high quality test execution.
  • Provide guidance to other departments on packaging design and testing and adoption criteria as needed.
    • Drive packaging design changes for improved product quality, reduced environmental impact, and cost improvement.
    • Comply with internal and external regulations and quality policies at all times; ensuring a safe, positive work environment.
  • Own packaging related NCs and CAPAs to ensure compliance.
  • Participate in and/or conduct various departmental and interdepartmental meetings or trainings. A team player that can prioritize between multiple projects.
  • Must be able to analyze complex prints, standards, statistical calculations, and test documentation for compliance and effectiveness.

WHAT YOU NEED:

Required:

  • Bachelors Degree in Packaging Engineering/Packaging Science (preferred), Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, or Biomedical Engineering
  • 0+ years of experience.

Preferred:

  • Packaging engineering experience in a regulated industry (prior medical device experience)

$87,600.00 - $136,200.00 salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
