Billing Manager
Reporting to the Director, the Billing Manager is primarily responsible for managing the daily activities of the billing team and ensuring the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of completion of the related tasks.
Using strong collaboration, problem solving and communication skills, the Billing Manager will work with other internal stakeholders and the team to continuously drive improvements in processes and systems to increase efficiency and effectiveness while delivering high levels of customer satisfaction. The Billing Manager will be responsible for building and nurturing a strong team culture through guidance, mentoring, training, and development for this high performing team.
What you'll do every day:
- Oversee day-to-day activities of the billing team. Develops processes, metrics, and controls to ensure data integrity, timeliness, and accuracy.
- Balance and efficiently resolve competing priorities and timelines and allocate workload across the team.
- Create a strong team culture through effective management, coaching and development of team members. Maintain staffing analysis to address business needs efficiently.
- Effectively train, motivate, and mentor employees to optimize workplace productivity and promote professional growth. Document billing SOP's and best practices to facilitate training.
- Participate in system consolidation projects to help streamline Order to Cash activities and improve customer experience. Define business requirements and participate in user acceptance testing.
- Partner with cross functional leaders to identify issues and provide solutions. Be a strategic partner in designing, developing, and implementing billing related workflows.
- Establish preventive controls to minimize billing errors. Establish and implement new processes as necessary to meet client needs and support new products and pricing initiatives. Serve as a point of contact and SME on non-standard contracts or pricing requiring custom solutions.
- Manage complex customer requests or complaints and escalate as necessary.
- Support month-end close activities and be a resource for corporate annual audit.
What you need to bring to the table:
- Prior management experience in a high growth environment
- Highly organized and customer-focused with a strong attention to details
- Demonstrated experience building highly productive relationships across functions while leading change management
- Strong process and controls orientation with ability to prioritize in fast paced environment
- Proven track record of managing large-scale data transfers, migrations, or system upgrades, ensuring seamless transition with minimal disruption to billing processes
- Demonstrated ability to manage and validate data integrity during system and process changes, including identifying and resolving discrepancies in data mapping, reconciliation, and migration
- Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to innovate
- Excellent communicator, self-aware, transparent, professional, and open to feedback
- Ability to make sound business decisions and proactively troubleshoot and problem solve
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Has familiarity with the Enterprise SaaS/B2B Industry
- Strong quantitative skills and highly proficient in gSuite and Netsuite, experience in Salesforce, Xero, and Stripe is preferred but not required
