We are looking for a strong team player with Corporate Functions, Global Human Resources, Finance and/or Global Markets experience to join the Corporate Functions, Markets & Financing Data Privacy team, and contribute, as needed, to other Risk Management and Assessment Programs. Demonstrated experience with Data Privacy knowledge, as well as general risk assessment and risk program experience will be of key importance.

The Corporate Functions, Markets & Financing Data Privacy Team provides valuable input toward designing, planning, and implementing operational components of State Street's Global Privacy Program in order to comply with domestic and international privacy regulations including GDPR.

What you will be responsible for:

  • The Data Privacy and Programs AVP will possess attention to detail and strong communication skills to engage, educate, and influence process owners about privacy issues, policies, and controls concerning the effectiveness of the Global Privacy Program and Risk and Controls Self-Assessment Program
  • The ideal candidate should be able to work independently and prioritize multiple projects at the same time
  • Act in an advisory capacity on policies, and assist in designing and maintaining procedures and controls associated with business risk
  • Assist the business with the completion and reviews of business project forms for new projects and initiatives involving the processing of Personal Data; act as a liaison between the business and the Privacy Office during the PIA/DPIA process
  • Oversee the management of and serve as an escalation point for business data incidents reported in the business globally and advise from a data privacy perspective, as necessary
  • Act as a liaison between the business and the Corporate Privacy Office
  • Oversee with periodic control reviews in order to ensure business compliance
  • Identify and assist in the remediation of control and process gaps to support an effective control environment
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly and periodic Inadvertent Data Disclosure (IDD) reporting for Risk Forums and Risk Committees
  • Develop and maintain effective and positive relationships with Business Partners (Ops Risk Management, Internal Audit, Legal, Compliance, Business Unit Heads, Corporate Privacy Office and Data Protection Officers across the international businesses) to ensure the adoption and ongoing engagement with the various Programs
  • Leads special projects and performs other duties as assigned

  • 8-10+ years of experience in compliance, operations or business risk in the financial services industry, with particular emphasis on Global Human Resources, Finance, and/or Global Markets
  • IAPP certifications or willingness to pursue privacy certifications
