State Street's Analytics platform is a web based application providing a full suite of analytics, which give clients insight into the risks and performance of their investment portfolios. Supporting all asset classes, the platform computes analytics such as: stress testing, value at risk (VaR), position specific analytics for derivatives (delta, gamma, vega etc.) and fixed income characteristics such as duration and convexity. The reporting offering also includes Liquidity and ESG indicators.

Who we are looking for

The primary responsibility for this Business Analyst role is to execute on the product strategy for the investment analytics department. We require a Business Analyst to partner with the end-users and assist in the review and re-engineering of business processes, with a purpose to support the reimplementation of the analytics engine on a Snowflake cloud data platform.

We are looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual, with a previous experience as Business Analyst, and with a finance background, to play a key role in the design and development of the Investment Analytics Risk Engine.

Work model: hybrid work model: minimum 2 days of office work per week on average (during onboarding fully in office)

Working hours: 10 AM - 6 PM

Location: Kraków (Centrum Biurowe Kazimierz) or Gdańsk (Titanium Tower Alchemia)

Your new role

As a Business Analyst you will:

  • Gather requirements from clients, business users and subject matter experts.
  • Write detailed business specifications to develop new features or re-develop existing features on the new cloud-based solution. Ensure that proposed solutions align with the product goals and technical capabilities.
  • Work closely with the IT and Financial Engineering team to design the solutions.
  • Work in an agile development team to deliver value add solutions. Partner with Product Manager and development team to build the solutions.
  • Work with data modelers to help them refine data models.
  • Validate developed features and support end-users in user acceptance testing.
  • Candidate will be expected to be a self-starter, highly motivated with a strong quantitative background.
  • Display leadership qualities and build effective relationships with teams within the organization.

The result of the work is, for example product documentation (PRD), API specification, user story, use case, process flow, data flow.

What we value

Specific skills and qualifications:

  • Min 4 years' experience in a related role: Business Analyst, Data Analyst, System Analyst or Technical Product Owner.
  • Proficiency with SQL language.
  • Experience working with a financial or accounting platform.
  • Experience with Cloud based data platform (Snowflake, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric). Demonstrate solid understanding of database concepts: data pipelines / data processing, including data mapping / lineage. Working knowledge of cloud computing concepts and architectures (must have!)
  • Quantitative finance expertise: Market risk & analytics, VaR, stress testing, fixed income analytics (duration, convexity etc), performance analytics & attribution, OTC derivatives pricing models is a plus
  • Basic python language is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance/ Mathematics/ Economics/ IT/ Engineering or equivalent
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High proficiency in technical writing. Experience in generating product documentation.
  • Experience with Agile software development is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills - ability to synthesize complex technical information and communicate it well with technical teams and business stakeholders.
