Responsibilities

The Agency Compensation Product team is seeking a Lead Software Engineer (Mainframe) to help accelerate work on high priority, confidential, and significant/modernized work efforts This opportunity will work closely with our Corporate Agency and Finance Business Partners to document, design, test and analyze requirements for our Agency Compensation system. This Software Engineer will aid in delivering software solutions to support critical Enterprise work efforts including the P&C Modernization efforts, the early stages of complex State Agent Decoupling, as well as getting in on the ground floor of other Modernization Efforts.
The Agency Compensation application/product is an internally developed mainframe solution that is responsible for ingesting and interrogating transactions from all business lines related to all products State Farm offers to determine if the transaction is a compensable transaction, and if it is, which agent gets compensated, applying the contractual business rules that are pertinent to that individual and paying that agent through direct deposit. The overall application additionally calculates and distributes payments to non-active agents and heirs of non-active agents and handles all year end reporting of compensation to those paid.

Qualifications

• Deep and Strong Mainframe experience, ideally using PL/1, DB2, JCL, Autoflow and prior experience support SF Mainframe systems.
• ServiceNow or incident management experience.
In addition to above, the experience portfolio would contain a financial background and exposure to transactional product line data (Auto, Fire, Life, Health, Mutual Funds, Bank).
Ideally, candidate would possess some degree of knowledge of associate data and operational business practices.
