About this Opportunity

As a Data Engineering Manager, you will lead and mentor the Data Engineering team members responsible for processing the vast quantity of data powering Spokeo's people-search products. This is an exciting opportunity to help transform and improve the quality of the data we deliver to our customers, and to partner with business stakeholders, data scientists, and software developers. The ideal candidate will have experience with modern big data processing technologies, an understanding of the challenges associated with aggregating large data sets, and a focus on automation and data quality.

What you'll do:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to improve our core data entities and associations
  • Work cross-functionally to understand customer product needs and build performant data solutions
  • Develop scalable, extensible, and robust automation components, using technologies such as Airflow, Jenkins, Spark, and more
  • Lead and mentor data engineers, ensuring that best practices are implemented for data optimization, data governance, data quality, and related activities.
What you've done:
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields.
  • 5+ years of development experience in highly scalable, distributed systems and cluster architectures (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc)
  • 3+ years experience working in big data ecosystems using Spark.
  • 3+ years managing software developers.
  • Experience with data warehousing, data modeling, and database architecture.
  • Experience in agile environments using Scrum or Kanban and software development life cycle.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills.
