JOB TITLE: Communications Specialist 
LOCATION: New York or Los Angeles


THE ROLE: We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Communications Specialist to join our growing team. This role is critical in ensuring our messaging is clear, engaging, and consistent across all channels.  The ideal candidate will be a master storyteller with the ability to simplify complex ideas and narratives, proficient in Google Docs and Google Slides, and able to use these tools to effectively present ideas to various stakeholders. We’re looking for a self-motivated person with stellar writing, organizational, and time management skills, who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Develop and execute strategic communication plans that promote our brand, products, and services to external audiences while fostering a strong internal company culture.
  • Coordinate with cross functional departments to gather insights and updates, ensuring all internal and external communications are accurate and timely.
  • Craft compelling copy for press releases and blog posts ensuring consistency in tone and style.
  • Utilize Google Docs and Google Slides to create and deliver presentations that effectively communicate complex ideas and project updates to both internal teams and external partners.
  • Build relationships with journalists in the music technology space.
  • Organize and oversee the production of internal meetings, including the preparation of agendas and presentation materials.
  • Monitor the impact of communication strategies through analytics and feedback, making data-driven decisions to improve engagement and reach.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and competitor activities to ensure our communication strategies remain innovative and effective.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a communications role, with a preference for candidates with experience in the music or technology sectors.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to distill complex concepts into clear, engaging narratives.
  • Proficiency in Google Docs and Google Slides, with a proven track record of using these tools to create compelling presentations and documents.
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A self-starter mentality with the initiative to take on new projects and solve problems creatively.
  • Knowledge of the music technology industry and its current trends is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members across different departments.

NICE TO HAVES: 

  • Familiarity with the music technology industry and a passion for music and innovation

 

The national pay range for this role is $72,188 - $82,500. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience.
