An overview of this role

As the People Communications & Engagement Associate, you will create and executive a variety of different communications and plans to keep team members informed and engaged at GitLab. You’ll maintain a clear picture of our internal communications editorial calendar and People Communications and Engagement initiatives, including our company-wide newsletter, change management communications, and engagement programs.

You excel in written and visual storytelling and can shape communications for a variety of internal audiences. You thrive in a cross-collaborative environment, often partnering with subject matter experts or teams across the company to create cohesive communications plans. You’re excited to help keep our global workforce engaged and positively impact the team member experience through thoughtful communications, team member stories, and amplification of company goals and initiatives.

What You’ll Do  

  • Develop and execute proactive and strategic communication initiatives, programs, and events in collaboration with global teams across GitLab
  • Own the internal editorial calendar, through vehicles such as our company newsletter, manager communication, executive videos and/or other communications channels
  • Partner closely with internal stakeholders to develop change management communications with clarity and empathy
  • Have an eye and ear to the ground across GitLab team members and teams with the goal of maximizing the team member experience and to ensure GitLab remains a place where all team members belong and are included
  • Be a shining example for GitLab’s culture, infusing GitLab’s mission, culture, and values into everything we do

What You’ll Bring 

  • Relevant communications experience
  • Self-motivated and ability to work as a Manager of one
  • Excellent writing, verbal, and listening skills
  • Adaptable and can think quickly on your feet
  • Know how and when to take initiative to get projects done by masterfully using all possible resources
  • Supremely organized and have fine-tuned project and program management skills
  • Ability to use GitLab
  • Aligns to GitLab’s Values

The base salary range for this role’s listed level is currently for residents of listed locations only. Grade level and salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. See more information on our benefits and equity. Sales roles are also eligible for incentive pay targeted at up to 100% of the offered base salary.

$53,800$115,200 USD
