Receiving Supervisor - Hialeah Gardens, FL

Responsibilities

The responsibilities listed below are encompassing of an Inbound/Receiving Supervisor, but not limited to these areas:

• Lead/manage inbound/receiving department associates
• Ensure that staff is appropriately trained in all aspects of the inbound/receiving and stocking roles.
• Motivate associates to meet productivity goals and efficiency goals.
• Responsible for custody and safekeeping of incoming inventory.
• Oversee receiving, incoming inspections (when required), stocking, keeping receiving records, and forwarding relevant information to Purchasing (Procurement) for vendor payments.
• Determine staffing needs, schedule personnel, and assign job duties.
• Interview, hire, and train new associates.
• Implement succession planning for self and other critical roles on the team.
• Ensure all on-time unloading of all inbound and return materials.
• Maintain daily objectives and ensure work goals are met in a timely manner.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Perform maintenance and housekeeping duties.
• Perform other job-related duties, as needed.

Skills/Requirements:

• Good communication skills
• Computer literacy skills
• Ability to work well with others is essential.
• Works well with limited supervision.
• Ability to operate powered industrial trucks (PIT) such as pallet jacks, forklifts, order pickers, and reach trucks.
• Strong math skills.
• Knowledge of warehouse technology including the use of RF guns and warehouse inventory software.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Exercises safety in all aspects of carrying out job responsibilities.
• Use of personal protective equipment (i.e. safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed or composite shoes) as required for the assigned work area.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a highly preferred.

Required Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of inbound/receiving department experience and material handling experience. Experience managing hourly Associates is preferred.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

The below characteristics are representative of those typically encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

Physical Demands:

The ability to remain in a stationary position roughly 50% of the time, as well as the ability to move about the office and storage facility is required. Using a computer while sitting and standing for extended periods is common.

Continuous mental and visual alertness to maintain safety and achieve accuracy. Requires flexibility and mobility in body movements. Frequently requires standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching with arms, and constant use of hands. Must also be able to lift and move incoming materials when necessary.

Work Environment:

The warehouse consists primarily of rows of large upright racks on a hard surface flooring. Most work is performed on pallet jacks, forklifts, and order pickers. The RDC will have climate control features to account for seasonal weather with an emphasis on sustainability.
