Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for server engineering and a desire to lead a talented team. We are seeking a Server Engineering Manager leads a team of engineers responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of server infrastructure and backend systems. This role ensures high availability, scalability, and performance of server environments while aligning with organizational goals and security standards.
This role can be located in Hamilton-New Jersey, Maitland-Florida or Denver-Colorado.
Travel Required up to 10%
Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a team of server engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of physical and virtual server environments.
Ensure system reliability, performance, and security through proactive monitoring and incident response.
Collaborate with DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and software engineering teams to support CI/CD pipelines and implement infrastructure automation.
Manage vendor relationships and evaluate new technologies to enhance infrastructure capabilities.
Develop and enforce best practices for system architecture, configuration management, and disaster recovery with a secure and customer-centric mindset.
Qualifications
7+ years of experience in server engineering or infrastructure roles, with 2+ years in a leadership capacity.
Proficiency in Linux/Windows server environments, virtualization, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
Strong understanding of networking, storage, and security principles
Experience with monitoring solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, SolarWinds)
Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
Be authorized to work for Sonepar in the United States without VISA sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Certifications:
RedHat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (AZ-800, AZ-801)
