Business Intelligence Engineer

We’re looking for a BI Engineer on our Platform Integrity & Customer Ops Analytics team! You’ll collaborate with teams across the organization to build metric consumption pipelines and coach fellow contributors, delivering the data necessary for making the right decision in the moment. Our team strives to improve decision quality across the company by ensuring metrics are trustworthy, discoverable, and easily consumable.

• What you’ll do:

  • Work closely with stakeholders in engineering, finance, platform integrity and customer ops to make high quality datasets available to consumers in a timely manner

  • Become familiar with our data consumption portals and their capabilities

  • Build expertise and ownership of data quality for supported domains

  • Orchestrate ETL Pipelines using Airflow and a combination of BigQuery and Spark

  • Deliver performant reporting datasets consumed through our visualization portals

  • Build reporting tools to facilitate consumption consistency across teams

  • Drive measurement excellence across teams through our Metric Champion program

• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience in building data pipelines to serve reporting needs

  • Experience owning all or part of a team roadmap 

  • Experience with data visualization tools like Looker and Tableau

  • Ability to prioritize requests from multiple stakeholders in disparate domains

  • Ability to effectively communicate complex projects to non-technical stakeholders
     

• Minimum Qualifications: 

  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent years of experience in a relevant field

  • 3+ year experience in SQL or similar languages

  • 3+ years development experience in at least one object-oriented or scripting language (Python, Java, Scala, etc), Python preferred

• Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands on experience with Google BigQuery

  • Experience using and sharing notebook solutions like Jupyter

  • Experience in version control systems such as Git

  • Data architecture and warehousing experience

  • Experience with Airflow

  • Experience in ETL / Data application development
