The main duty of QA Engineer is automation and improvement of softwaretesting process.
Responsibilities:
- Improvementof existing test framework system (applications, modules):
- Quicklyunderstanding the tested feature (mathematical model, parameters, etc);
- Working incontact with developers and decide how to achieve maximum coverage, work outcorner cases of the tested feature;
- Developingtest plans;
- Developingfunctional and feature regression tests and test suites:
- Managetesting projects (assign tasks to project engineers, prepare time tables,documentation, etc);
- Lookthrough the results of test runs, inspect the reasons of failed tests and fixthem;
- Lookthrough testing tools' logs, understand the reasons of crashes and errors;
- Developtest plans and manage job assignments
Qualifications:
- QA engineershould have at least 3 years working experience in software testing area.
- BS/MS/PHDin Electronic Engineering or Computer Science.
- Goodknowledge of Electronics, IC design.
- Goodbackground of layout, schematic, verification EDA tools.
- Highscripting/coding skills (knowledge of TCL, Python, Perl is a plus);
- Ability tostudy quickly new scripting languages;
- Search andunderstand documentation about domain, software tools, etc;
- Experienceof working in UNIX environment:
- Goodknowledge of UNIX shell scripting;
- Basicknowledge about grid engines;
- Knowledgeand experience of working with software testing tools:
- Memory andcache testing tools (purify, valgrind, etc.);
- Codecoverage analyzers (Numega, gcov,Pure coverage, etc)
- GUI testingtools (Rational Robot, Squish, etc);
- Basicknowledge about design data formats (LEF, DEF, GDSII, Open Access).
